Saber – MSK; AWR
Saber was born and raised in Glendale by creative-industry artist parents, spending a great deal of time in and around their Art Center. Now, Saber has to be the West Coast’s most prolific graffiti artist. Saber has been bombing the streets since 1990 when he picked up graffiti from his local friends. Known throughout the world for producing the World’s Largest Graffiti Piece in 1997, Saber is world class and has a world audience to display his artworks throughout the streets of almost every major city in the United States.
This masterpiece measures a staggering 250’ x 55’ (nearly the size of a football field) and took 125 gallons of latex roller paint and a year of carefully planned nights to complete. Every supply for the LA Riverbed painting had to be hauled over barbed wire and through gangland, then applied without attracting the attention of either the Amtrak or Los Angeles police departments, both of whom patrol the area from the ground and the air. After a year of work, Saber had blown out his knee working on the slanted surface, but completed the painting.
